Every city, small or large, should have at least one all night diner that serves awesome food. Let’s face it, if you are up at 3 am eating dim sum, you are either having the time of your life or a rough time of life. In which case, you deserve decent food to help makes things all better.
Dive Master Richard recently checked out Lahaina Café (but not at 4 a.m), 843 Wainee St. Across from Ace Hardware. Serving Vietnamese, Chinese, and Sushi, hours from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. this is the place to net Dim Sum for breakfast and lunch. American breakfast is only served from 8 a.m. to 3 a.m. There is also a sushi Bar at dinner hour.
Richard had Chow Fun, Garlic Butter Chicken Wings, and Eggroll and Grilled Pork Vermicelli Salad, which his son called a non-salad. All were very tasty and reasonably priced everything on menu at 8 to 10 bucks. He also got California and Spicy Tuna Roll Sushi, reporting that the Sushi Menu is very large, with prices that vary from single items for $5.95 to special items as high as $49.95 for a Sashimi Combo.Phone for Dim Sum 667-6655, for Sushi Bar 281-2775.
Next up, Richard promises to report on the new Clubhouse Bar and Grill opened now in the former Rusty Harpoon/Mango Café space across from Tia Juanas. For now, they are only opened only for breakfast lunch and pupus 7 am-4 pm, after which time it’s suggested you head over to Tia Juanas, which happens to open at 4 pm!
