Noble Chef Event Sells Out, Raises Funds for Culinary Students in Maui

If you were fortunate enough to be there last Friday, October 29, 2010, you already know what a fantastic event the neighbor island guest Chefs and Students of MCA prepared for the occasion. Check out the LINK for a behind the scenes recap of the event! Below is a note of thanks from the committee with comments from some key participants.

Congrats and Mahalo to all involved!

To Noble Chef supporters;

A sincere mahalo from the Maui Culinary Academy students and faculty, University of Hawai’i Maui College and the Noble Chef Committee for your support of the 14th Annual Noble Chef event.

We were blown away! With your assistance, more than $100,000 will be going towards student scholarships, development and expansion of the culinary arts program.

Over 340 people enjoyed the sold out dinner, featuring a sampling of Hawai’i’s top chefs working alongside our Maui Culinary Academy students.

The biggest success of the evening was by far the positive experience gained by the students, as well as the professional relationships forged behind the scenes that will benefit our students as they look to embark upon their careers in the culinary arts.

Please enjoy the following statements and our slideshow as a tribute to your efforts.

Some sharing on the event:

It takes a committed group effort to make Noble Chef a success each year. It is through a dedicated coalition of community leaders, culinary industry professionals, and most importantly, the reassuring “good will” extended to our culinary program by each of our Noble Chef guests, that we continue to rally together to turn dreams into reality for our Academy’s aspiring student chefs. Community involvement in our culinary students attainment of higher education and career success is the true essence and value of the Noble Chef.
Chris Speere
Program Coordinator, Maui Culinary Academy

The Noble Chef not only gives culinary students a glimpse into the industry that they are going to be entering after graduation, but you’re given the opportunity to interact with important people from our island community as well as some of the most talented and inspired Chefs in Hawaii. The Noble Chef is a fast paced, exciting opportunity for any industry hopeful, and gives students a taste of what is like in this hustle and bustle industry.
