The Mick Fleetwood Band Plays Maui – Hana Hou!!

Mick Fleetwood

Mick Fleetwood

As if last night’s astounding sunset, the discovery of gelato on Front Street, or the fabulous wine tasting under the stars last Friday weren’t enough, The Mick Fleetwood Band is also playing in Kihei and Kaanapali this week!

Maui residents are outrageously fortunate on so many counts, not the least of which is having world- class performers in our midst who, having already achieved fame and glory, now play for the love of it, using their talents to raise money for deserving causes. In this case the concerts will benefit Save the Arts, a program “created to education, inspire and encourage the youth of our community through Arts and Music.”

The Mick Fleetwood Band, features Rick Vito, Lenny Castellanos, and Mark Johnstone. Two members of the Island Rumors Band, Eric Gilliom and
Gretchen Rhodes, have been invited to play along with Hapa’s Barry Flanagan, (who also teamed up with Gilliom this past weekend at Café Marc Aurel’s intimate setting.)

Be sure to attend one or both of the concerts!

Stella Blues, September 11, 9 p.m.

Royal Lahaina Resort, September 13, 7 p.m. (dinner packages also available)

$40 in advance, $45 at the door

POST CONCERT REVIEW:
What an unbelievable evening this was! The band was fantastic, in all its incarnations, whether as the Mick Fleetwood blues band (which blue me away back to my sweet home Chicago), the stage band performing old hits compliments of pitch-perfect vocals by Gretchen and Eric (baby, that girl can rock), Barry and Eric teamed up with their always incredible act doing a superb job warming things up — in short, everything was awesome. It was like experiencing talent overflow on a stunning evening on Maui.
Reminded me of a mini Lollapalooza (with an ocean and palm trees) with so many different sounds emanating from the same stage before a terrific and appreciative crowd all ready to rock in the party frame of mind.
Glorious weather added to the mystique of the  Maui Magical Evening, and the Royal Lahaina Resort did a fantastic job of managing the whole affair.
I vote for making this a monthly event! And will somebody please hand those performers five tikis!?!Hana Hou!
