Maui Culinary Academy Chef in Training

The Maui Culinary Academy is offering local wine enthusiasts and food lovers a rare opportunity to enjoy  a selection of California’s great Zinfandels alongside culinary creations by 18 of the Academy’s top culinary students. The Zinfandel Grand Tasting offers our community “one last chance” this Spring to sample the best recipes that the future chefs of Maui can offer, according to program director Chris Speere, who adds, “Our Student Chefs are thrilled  to be in the spotlight and to be recognized as the celebrity chefs for this nationally acclaimed ZAP event. “ As well they should be, this being a national organization.

Teams will compete for Festival honors

The event will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m in the Paina Food Court.  Reservations are $55 for non-ZAP members and can be made online at the Zinfandel Org website. Proceeds from the event will go to the Maui Culinary Academy’s Enrichment Account, supporting student competitions, visiting chef training workshops and program advancement activities.   Information on the program is available the Zinfandel website and from Culinary Arts Program Director, Chris Speere, at 984-3690.
