Garden Party - Wear Your Hat!

MAPA’s mission is to enrich individuals, build community and connect the world through the arts.

MAPA’s dance classes and performances build strength, grace and self confidence in hundreds of Maui’s keiki every year. Drama classes enhance self-esteem and collaboration skills. Community productions offer what no digital form of entertainment can ever match: the magic of live community theatre integrating the experienced performers with budding performers. And each school year, MAPA’s school partnership residency programs, Voices and Take Note, use the performing arts to enhance reading skills for 8,000 Maui students. MAPA’s Educational Theatre Tours bring professional theatre directly into schools across the state of Hawaii, enabling more than 35,000 kids to experience live theatre, many for the first time.

The Garden Party is truly an awesome day with over 15 of restaurants offering samplings of their most delicious cuisines and a wonderful selection of wines provided by Whole Foods. See attached flyer for specifics.

Also featured at the Garden Party is an extensive silent auction, the ‘Garden Shop’ (offering gardening items) as well as the opportunity to experience and purchase ‘live art’ created right on site the day of the Garden Party. Other quality artwork, provided by some of Maui’s most well known artists will also be available for auction that afternoon.

Additionally, MAPA is offering what we call “Garden Green” – which is Garden Party Currency – prior to the event. A person can purchase $100 of Garden Green to spend at the auction for only $75! This boosts the purchasing power for people to bid on auction items. (Garden Green is available through the MAPA office or through Board Members.) At least one of our Board members will be in attendance at the next luncheon.

Event Date: September 12, 2010
Event Time: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Place: Yokouchi Estate in Wailuku
Pricing: Standard price of pre-purchased tickets is $60 and can be purchased from any member of the Board or any of the ticket outlets listed on the flyer. Tickets will be $70 at the door.
