THURSDAY, June 7

12:00 pm – 3:00 pm Local Industry Trade Show – The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua

By invitation only, local wine distributors and Maui-grown purveyors present their newest releases and latest creations to industry buyers.

5:00 pm – 6:30 pm – Welcome Reception – Merriman’s Kapalua

By invitation only, this affair includes Festival Master Sommeliers, Festival Chefs, winemakers, media and 4-day Festival pass holders for an intimate “aloha” kick-off to the 2012 Festival!

Chef Masa’s Kaiseki Dinner – Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar

Kaiseki is a formal, many course dinner meant to show case great ingredients, and technique of the Master Sushi Chef, Masamichi Hattori.Please call (808) 669-6286 for more information.

Pair up perfectly with Festival winemakers, speakers and guests for a game of gently rolling fairways and scenic ocean views with complimentary awards luncheon to follow.

2:00 pm – 3:30 pm Pinot Superstars Wine Seminar – The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua

Hosted by Master Sommelier Michael Jordan, the stars of the world of Pinot showcase their personal favorites from the five AVA’s of California: Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Santa Maria Valley, Santa Lucia Highlands.

11:00 am – 12:30 pm – Organic Vines Make Better Wines – The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua

30 years of organic wine grape advising with some of the best in the world. Amigo Bob Cantisano will present the practical and esoteric aspects of producing wine grapes using non toxic organic farming. He advises nearly 50 organic grape growers and wineries in California and Oregon. Amigo’s presentation will feature the success stories of many of his clients and how they produce top quality wines using human and environmentally friendly state of the art organic farming.

1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Cooking Demonstration with Celebrity Chef Ron Siegel –The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua

Chef Siegel is regarded as one America’s culinary superstars. As the first U.S. citizen to win in Iron Chef, Chef Siegel is known for blending haute French cuisine with subtle Japanese touches.

3:00 – 4:30 pm – Tasting with Heidi Barrett and La Sirena Wines –The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua

Heidi Barrett is regarded as one of Napa Valley’s foremost winemakers. With great enthusiasm, a love for what she does, and an abundance of experience, Heidi’s instinctive gift of integrating the art and science of winemaking is unparalleled. Since 1988 she has developed an impressive client list of ultra-premium wineries including Screaming Eagle(14 years), Dalla Valle(8 years), Jones Family(12 years), Grace Family(6 years), Vineyard 29(6 years), David Arthur, Barbour Vineyards(15 years), Revana(10 years) and Showket(12 years). This seminar will feature a selection of her own brand, La Sirena wines:

A comprehensive tasting of wines from one of the hottest regions in winemaking. Hosted by Master candidate Charles Fredy, he will lead this fun and informative tasting of wines from several areas of Spain. Along with Patrick Okubo, the youngest Master Sommelier in North America and one of only three in Hawaii. Many of the featured wines were selected by Master Sommelier Sara Floyd of Jorge Ordonez Selections.
