The Sheraton Maui Resort and Spa will host the Second Annual Fall Festival of Wines this Friday, November 13, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. in the Coral Reef Room. For an entrance fee of $40/pp guests will enjoy a variety of white and red wines paired at various stations offering “elegant” hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are available at this website.
The event is actually a community service project organized by participants in the Sheraton Maui’s fall intern program. Talk about a win/win/win! While the interns turn a good deed, Maui Youth and Family Services benefits from the proceeds raised during the event, and members of the community have yet another opportunity to quaff wine and dine on delicious fare in the company of friends.
Maui Youth and Family Services is the designated beneficiary of this year’s event based on the urgency of their outreach programs in the Hawaiian Community which includes providing emergency shelters, outreach interventions, outpatient substance abuse programs, therapeutic foster homes, drug prevention programs, pregnancy preventions and many other positive services. Jud Cunningham, CEO of Maui Youth and Family Services, admits the current economic situation has made it difficult to fund services and they are dependent upon help and participation now more than ever.
Beyond the entrance fee, guests can offer further support by participating in the silent auction for a chance to win a two-night stay with breakfast at the Sheraton Waikiki, Kauai, or Keauhou, or tickets for world-class entertainment compliments of Warren and Annabelles, Kupanaha Magic and the Old Lahaina Luau. Door prizes have been donated by Teppan-Yakii Dan, Black Rock Steak and Seafood, Pulehu, Tropica, Kobe Steakhouse, Bubba Gump’s, Hawaiian Airlines, and Oceanic Time Warner. All proceeds from donated items go directly to Maui Youth and Family Services and stay right here on Maui to aid our ohana in times of need.
Guests of the Fall Festival of Wines are invited to spend the night at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa with a special Ka‘amaina VIP rate of $150 per room. Simply call the reservations line (808) 921-4646 and mention rate code KAMVIP to book your room! Guests must have a valid Hawaii license to redeem this package.
See you there!
