`Aipono Awards Wine Dinner:
Lahaina Grill, June 9th

If you’ve been paying attention you know that Maui No Ka Oi Magazine has been hosting a series of Wine Dinners at top `Aipono Award winning establishments to benefit MCC’s Culinary Academy. The first was at Pineapple Grill (reviewed here), the second was a wine tasting at ‘I`O (also reviewed at WCM).

Next on tap, the celebratory dinner June 9th at Lahaina Grill will assuredly bring a night of fabulously delicious dining. Under the tutelage of Richard Olsen III, LG’s distinguished sommelier, and Mark Neal of the Neal Family Vineyards in Napa Valley, guests will experience food and wine pairings par excellence including a Neal Family Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc teamed with macadamia nut smoked Kurobuta pork chops, and Neal Family Vineyards Zinfandel presented alongside Kona coffee roasted rack of lamb with light coffee-cabernet demi-glace atop herb infused mashed potatoes. The meal concludes with the restaurant’s famed “Road to Hana” dessert, layers of Hawaiian vintage chocolate cake, chocolate sour cream mousse and macadamia nut caramel.

Such exquisite gastronomic enchantment is offered for only $150/pp inclusive of taxes, gratuities, food, and wine! I can’t imagine a more effectual way to benefit the cooking school while toasting Lahaina Grill for their continued culinary excellence and efforts toward environmental sustainability.
