When is a sandwich not a sandwich? When it’s a gourmet meal tucked between two slices of bread or rolled up on a tortilla blankie. The owners, Josh, Jim and Chad, parlay 40 years of combined restaurant experience into their otherwise unassuming sandwich shop.  From the outside, it’s sort of surfer-chic, but once inside, it’s pretty obvious the owners’ training at the Four Seasons in Wailea “took.” What sets this place apart is the way the staff transfer that same “cherished guest” attitude of their former employer to every customer at their deli.

You want a special combination of ingredients not listed on the menu? No problem. Prefer to take lunch to the beach for later? They’ll take you serious and will even loan you a little cooler type beach bag to keep things fresh and wholesome while you catch some rays.

This same extensive knowledge of the food industry shows most clearly in the food. 808 Deli imparts distinctive touches to every item, turning an otherwise simple sandwich concept into sublime creations. The Chicken Pesto Panini is their best seller – Chicken Breast, Sun Dried Tomato, Toasted Pine nuts, Provolone, Pesto Spread, and the “Porkie,” Hawaiian Pork, Mango Salsa, Pepperjack Cheese, Sweet Chili Dipping Sauce, on Rye Bread has a loyal following.
