The Ali`i Lavender Farm in Kula is one of my favorite places to take island visitors for lunch, especially during the dog days of summer. It’s cooler upcountry and the beautiful farm setting makes for a great ladies day out offering a completely different perspective of island life.
The food at the farm is great, too, with everything seasoned with the lovely scent of lavender … chicken, scones, honey, tea, salad dressing … it’s all far better than you’d imagine. My favorite is the lavender lemonade. Since you can only find it at the farm and a few select outlets, I’m hoping Ali`i will concoct a “make it at home” powder or syrup soon that you can add to sparkling water. For now, I’m happy to stop by the farm to enjoy this unique and delightful summer afternoon treat .
